Casepak and the community
Casepak was formed in 1973 by George Smith. Over the years the company has grown and we will soon employ more than 100 people across two sites, both in Leicester.
We have strong links with the Leicester business community and sponsor The Leicester Tigers rugby team. We also sponsor:
- Ayleston Park Junior Football Team
- Loughborough Galaxy Senior Football Team
- Enderby Cricket Club
In addition, we also aim to provide sports shirts for one of our local primary schools through a Midlands’ sports initiative, so encouraging early participation in team events.
Helping young gardeners
When Leicester company Walkers Crisps offered to build a new garden for students at the nearby Beaumont Leys School, we were delighted to provide additional sponsorship to support the project. The garden provides an opportunity for students aged between 11 and 16 to get hands-on experience of horticultural activities and also gives them a quiet, pleasant place to relax at break times.
Learning about recycling
Our new Materials Recycling Facility at Braunstone Frith incorporates a dedicated sustainable waste education centre where students can learn about the real world of recycling and waste management.
Here, students from year five upwards can see how the items that they recycle at home are sorted and separated, ready to be sent on to a recycling reprocessor. They will learn how their recycling actions can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and will see exactly what their recycled items can be turned in to.
For older students, there’s an opportunity to discuss careers in the waste and recycling sector and to consider more in-depth environmental areas.
