Duty of Care

If your operation generates waste you need to comply with the Environmental Protection Act (1990). This imposes a duty of care on all organisations handling waste. This includes those who:

The waste producer takes the primary responsibility for compliance with this legislation. They must ensure that the wastes are stored securely and are only transferred to an authorised person.

When you transfer your waste to another organisation you will be given a Waste Transfer Note. This must accurately describe the waste that has been transferred. It is your responsibility to keep Waste Transfer Notes for at least two years.

Casepak is authorised to issue Waste Transfer Notes. We issue customers with an annual Waste Transfer Note for each type and grade of recovered material collected or received, so keeping administration manageable.
