Waste Exemptions
Waste exemptions apply to specific types of low risk waste handling operations. These exemptions are supplied by the Environment Agency and mean that a waste handling permit is not needed where the environmental risks are low.

It is important to note that the waste exemption regulations changed in April 2010. This changed the types of waste operation that are exempt and the rules which control them.
