Our facilities are compliant with all Environment Agency regulations, we also have a Waste Carrier’s Licence and meet Duty of Care legislation.

Environmental Permits
Environmental Permits are required for waste management operations that involve the receipt, storage, treatment, sorting, and recovery of regulated waste streams. These permits ensure that waste is managed in accordance with strict environmental controls and that operations are carried out without causing pollution or harm to the environment.
A waste handling company needs an Environmental Permit to operate a regulated waste facility and must apply, and be approved by, the Environment Agency to qualify for a permit. The company must continue to meet the conditions set down by the Environmental Permit to remain operational.
Casepak’s Materials Recycling Facility operates under a current Environmental Permit, demonstrating that its waste handling and recycling activities are subject to regulatory oversight and environmental management controls.
At our Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) recyclable materials are received, stored, and mechanically and manually sorted into individual material streams. The facility processes mixed recyclable materials, separating commodities such as paper and card, plastics and metals for onward recycling and recovery. Materials are prepared to meet the required specifications for reprocessors, enabling them to be returned to the manufacturing supply chain rather than being sent to disposal.
The Environmental Permit, issued and regulated by the Environment Agency, sets out the conditions under which Casepak can operate its waste management facility. These conditions cover matters such as the types and quantities of waste accepted, waste storage and handling, site infrastructure, pollution prevention, monitoring, and operational controls.
Waste Exemptions
Waste exemptions apply to specific types of low risk waste handling operations. Exemptions are supplied by the Environment Agency and mean that a waste handling permit is not needed where the environmental risks are low. Casepak can help you to understand the categories of waste exemptions available, the materials that they can be applied to, and how and who should make an application.

Waste Carriers Licence
When you appoint a company or organisation to collect and transport your recycled materials, it is important to ask if they have a Waste Carrier’s Licence. Only those companies that have this Environment Agency-issued licence are permitted to transport your waste materials. Please note, if you plan to transport your own waste, you will also need to apply for a Licence.
Casepak holds a Waste Carrier’s Licence (Licence CBDU92580) and is certified to transport recyclable and waste materials.
